Biography

Itay Goldstein is the Joel S. Ehrenkranz Family Professor, Professor of Finance, and Professor of Economics at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He also serves as the Chairperson of the Finance Department.

His research interests include corporate finance, feedback effects between financial markets and real economy, financial fragility and crises, financial institutions, and financial markets.

Professor Goldstein has held numerous academic advisory and consulting positions at major central banks and financial institutions worldwide. He currently serves as Academic Advisor to the Bank of Canada and as Academic Consultant to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

He is the Co-founder and Inaugural President of the Finance Theory Group, and serves as Executive Editor of the Review of Financial Studies. He has previously served as Editor at Management Science and the Journal of Financial Intermediation.
